MacMan's RetroChallenge July 2008 Blog

Recently I happened to be taking some rubbish to a bin at work and upon opening the large, industrial-sized dumpster in the car park I noticed something black and electronic looking sitting inside. I reached in and turned it over and was surprised to discover that it was a 128K Sinclair ZX Spectrum +! Furthur raiding in the bin uncovered the power supply, a 1980's tape recorder for loading programs, the manual and necessary tape and video cables. I got it home and after giving it a good clean I powered it on and was delighted to find that it works. That is as far as I have got with it! I've never used a Spectrum before so I'm not familiar with it, nor do I have any program/game tapes.
This July it is my intention to learn how to use my Sinclair Spectrum, get some games running on it and perhaps even try writing a program or two of my own. I will document my progress on this page and will provide fairly regular updates, hopefully with lots of pictures.
Just a side note, this blog is being entirely hosted by my Macintosh LC 475 web server. If you haven't already then please check out the rest of the site by clicking the link at the bottom of this page.
This page was created entirely on a 68K Macintosh.
