After a great deal of tinkering, I have managed to install Decor on the SE/30. I had to copy over the installer and then Stuffit from the Quadra and all via LocalTalk, so I went away and had a coffee in the process. Much to my delight Decor seems to work fine so the next step is to get some pictures onto the SE/30 so that Decor can step through them in a "digital photo frame" manner. Also need to install a little utility for hiding the menu bar as it will otherwise interfere with the overall effect.
I'm thinking I'll compress the images into low-res JPEGs and then dither them using Hyper Dither as there is no need to have colour images on a Mac that can only display B&W.
In other news I gave the LC475 a much needed backup. It is periodically backed up onto a Zip disk so that if the server fails for some reason, another Mac can quickly take over. I have a feeling that the hard drive in the LC475 is becoming noiser so I'm keeping an eye on it. It is the original 80MB drive and I know for a fact that it already has a huge milage on it and has the potential to give up.
